Applications for Estuaries' 2019 school are now closed. The school will take place August 9-19, 2019 in Kona, Hawaii. We anticipate it to be a rich and beautiful time of exploring the love of the Father, our identities in Christ, and the issues of our day. All of this will take place in the context of daily prayer and worship, intellectually-rigorous lectures, conversations at the dinner table, and of course, many adventures around the Big Island. If you would like to be notified when 2020 applications are opened please contact us.
Our topics of exploration will include:
identity as sons and daughters of God
friendship with the Holy Spirit
intimacy with Jesus
emotional health and maturity
racial conciliation in the Church
gender and sexuality
Space is limited to 24 students. The cost of the program is $1000, which includes meals and housing on the YWAM campus. The cost does not include your flight to Kona. Need-based scholarships are available.
Program Eligibility - Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 to apply. All are welcome to apply; primary consideration is given to college and university students (undergraduates - PhD candidates), recent graduates, and those who are currently on staff at a church or ministry. We are looking for participants who demonstrate deep and thoughtful engagement with society and culture.
Transportation - Participants must arrange their own transportation to and from the island. Please do not book your ticket until you have been accepted into the program. Estuaries will arrange an airport shuttle service and transportation around the island for official excursions.
Housing - Rooms are dormitory style, with bunk beds and shared bathrooms. Please bring your own towel, linens for a twin bed, and towels for showering and going to the beach. Please also note that no accommodations can be made for any students who arrive before or decide to stay after the official Estuaries dates. If you book your flight outside of these dates, you will be responsible for finding your own accommodation.
Food - Meals and snacks are included in the cost of the program. The University of the Nations cafeteria provides three meals a day. Every other day, Estuaries will provide an off-campus lunch.
Tuition Deadline / Cancellation - Upon acceptance, we request that you make your payment by June 1, 2019 in order to reserve your spot for the program. Your spot will not be held until the full payment is received. You may cancel your registration and receive a refund of your registration fee up to 3 weeks prior to the date of the event; provided, however, you will be charged a $50.00 handling fee upon the cancellation of your registration. In the event that you cancel your registration less than 3 weeks prior to the date of the event, you will forfeit 50% of the entire registration fee. Regardless of when you cancel your registration, your registration is not transferable to another event, date, or person.
